This a healthy as well as yummy snack which could be opted especially for children. As it is sweet, and steam cooked , it is well enjoyable.
Ingredients:
Raw rice ( Pachari ) - 3 cups -
Jaggery - 500gms
Salt - a pinch
Coconut scratched - 1 coconut
Plantain leaves
Cardamom - 4 to 5 No.s
Coconut oil - 3 Drops
Method:
- Soak raw rice in water for 2hours and then grind it well to make a batter of the same viscosity as that of dosha batter, add too little salt to it.
- Plantain leaves cut to a medium size has to be shown in flame, so that it gets wilted.
- Simultaneously scratched coconut is to be mixed with the jaggery water and cardamoms and mixed in a pan under low flame. Take care that much water should not be added to melt jaggery.
- 3 drops of coconut oil is to be added to the batter and then is poured to the plantain leaves and tilt gently gently to make an oval shape of the same.
- The jaggery and coconut mixture is to be put at the centre of the batter poured on leaves. Try folding it carefully on all sides and you may make a tag with the plantain thread available from the plant or else with a thread.
