This is a sweet puliyanji which could be enjoyed by all age types. Even those who don't love beetroot will love having this dish!!!!!
Ingredients:
Beetroot - 4 No.s
Greenchillies - 2 No.s
Ginger - a small piece
Mustard - a little
Curry leaves
Red chilly - 1 No.s
Oil
Salt - To taste
Jagger y - 6 Pieces
Tamarind - Size of a lemon (if needed more sour, may add more)
Sugar - 2 Tbsp
Method:
- Chop beetroot, green chillies and ginger to fine pieces.
- Fry up mustard,curry leaves and red chilly in oil.
- To it add chopped beetroot, green chillies and ginger and saute well.
- After that add the tamarind juice prepared along with the jaggery dissloved in hot water.
- Let the gravy get thickened. May add a pinch of salt too.
- Finally, put it off when it becomes viscous to an extent.
- If more sweet taste is needed, add a little sugar to it.
Thus the yummy PULIYANJI is ready.............
